Education Minister Dipu Moni said that the government is dedicated to its work wiping out corruption from all sectors, including education.
She said this while speaking at an event marking the International Day of Education at the International Mother Language Institute (IMLI) on Thursday, reports UNB.
In her words: “We are moving forward, we have many aims. Eliminating corruption from all sectors, including education, is our election pledge. The government is working on it.”
The education minister also said that the government is working to introduce an inclusive education where every child, including [of] ethnic [minorities], and physically-challenged, gets equal facilities.
“We have had many successes in the education sector in the last 10 years. No other government has achieved as much success as that of Bangabandhu’s daughter,” she added.
Moreover, the minister called on all officials of education-related ministries to perform their duties properly, from their respective positions, to reach their goals.
She said: “I would like to tell all the guardians, ‘raise your children as good human beings as well as good students’. They should be self-confident, open-minded and aware about the Liberation War. If we lead life with integrity, then there will be no need for any anti-corruption drives.”
Notably, the program was jointly organized by the Bangladesh National Commission for UNESCO (BNCU) and Secondary and Higher Education Division (SHED).
Dr Dipu Moni was present as the chief guest while the State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Ministry Md Jakir Hossain, and the Deputy Minister for Education Ministry Md Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury were present as special guests.
Among others, Technical and Madrasah Education Division secretary Md Alamgir, Primary and Mass Education secretary Md Akram-Al-Hossain, National University Vice Chancellor Harun-or-Rashid spoke at the program.
