ACM-ICPC Asia regional contest to kick off November 10

The department of computer science and engineering at University of Asia Pacific (UAP) is set to organise the regional final round of International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC), titled “2017 ACM-ICPC Asia Dhaka Regional Contest.” The contest will be held at the UAP Dhaka campus from 3pm to 5pm on Saturday, November 10. ACM-ICPC is an annual multi-tier competitive programming competition among the universities across the world. UAP Vice Chancellor and Asia Dhaka Regional Contest Director Prof Jamilur Reza Choudhury said a total of 150 teams will compete for the upcoming contest. Two teams from Nepalese universities are going to take part in the contest this year. A total of 1,456 team members from 85 universities were registered and took part in a preliminary online contest held on September 23 this year. The 2018 World Finals will be held at Peeking University in China’s Beijing from April 15-20 next year. The inauguration ceremony will take place on November 10.
