July Museum has introduced a free wheelchair service for visitors with special needs to make their visits more accessible, comfortable and convenient.
The service became operational Tuesday morning, allowing physically challenged visitors to use wheelchairs free of charge from the museum entrance.
Under the initiative, visitors accompanied by family members or relatives can operate the wheelchairs themselves while exploring the museum. Those visiting alone will receive assistance from trained museum volunteers, who will guide them through the exhibition halls and provide necessary support.
The museum authority has also taken special care to ensure that its pathways, infrastructure and exhibition halls are accessible and convenient for wheelchair users.
Director General of July Museum Ehasan Mahamud said the museum represents the memories and emotions of every citizen of the country.
“Ensuring that no physical limitation becomes a barrier to learning history and visiting the museum, we have introduced this special service,” he said.
He added that museum volunteers would remain ready to assist visitors alongside their family members, enabling everyone to explore the entire museum without difficulty.
“We want to build the July Museum as a completely inclusive and open institution for all,” he said.
The museum's infrastructure was designed with wheelchair-friendly pathways to facilitate access for visitors with special needs.
Physically challenged visitors and their family members can avail themselves of the service by contacting the museum's main gate.
