32,832 Hajj pilgrims return home, 48 die in Saudi Arabia

78,500 Bangladeshi pilgrims performed Hajj this year

A total of 32,832 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims have returned home after performing Hajj this year, while 48 pilgrims have died in Saudi Arabia, according to official data.

The pilgrims returned on 78 return flights and arrived in Bangladesh by 3am on Friday.

The information was published in the daily bulletin of the IT Helpdesk on the Hajj portal of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

According to the bulletin, 3,328 pilgrims returned under government management, while 29,504 returned under private management.

During the repatriation process, Biman Bangladesh Airlines operated 28 flights, Saudi Airlines 31 flights and Flynas 19 flights.

Among the deceased pilgrims, 32 were men, and 16 were women. Of them, 35 died in Makkah, 12 in Madinah and one in Jeddah.

The bulletin further said that 360 Bangladeshi pilgrims received treatment at various hospitals in Saudi Arabia, while 23 are currently admitted.

A total of 78,500 Bangladeshi pilgrims performed Hajj this year. Of them, 4,565 went under government management and 73,935 under private management.

The first Hajj flight departed on April 18, while the last outbound flight was on May 21. The return phase began on May 30 and will continue until June 30.
