Police have recovered the dismembered body of a man stuffed inside a drum on the road in front of the National Eidgah under Shahbagh police station in Dhaka.
Around 6pm on Thursday, police noticed a blue drum left by the roadside. Upon suspicion, they opened it and found the mutilated body of a man, including his head, inside.
Confirming the recovery, Shahbagh police station Inspector (Investigation) Mainul Islam Khan said: “We are at the scene. A man’s body has been recovered from inside the drum. Efforts are underway to gather more details.”
Eyewitnesses said the drum had been left in the area earlier in the afternoon by a van.
Later in the evening, locals, finding it suspicious, informed the police.
