A fire caused by a gas leak at a house in Aftabnagar under Badda police station has left a four-year-old child dead.
The child, identified as Tanjila, 4, succumbed to her injuries on Sunday afternoon while undergoing treatment.
Dr Shawon Bin Rahman, resident surgeon at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (NIBPS), confirmed the death.
He said that 66% of her body had been burned.
Five people from the same family were injured in the incident, including three children.
The injured were admitted in critical condition to the NIBPS in Dhaka following the incident around 12:30am on Saturday.
