A sunny Thursday morning quickly gave way to dark skies and strong winds by late morning, as the capital experienced another bout of sudden downpour that turned the day into evening-like gloom, like the previous day.
The sky began clouding over from mid-morning, despite a bright sunrise similar to Wednesday, reports Bangladesh. By around 11:45am, the city’s skyline resembled that of dusk, as gusty winds swept through, followed by heavy rain.
The weather office forecast similar conditions over the next few days.
After weeks of relentless heat, the showers on Wednesday and Thursday came as a relief to Dhaka residents, bringing down temperatures significantly.

For Friday, the same weather pattern is expected to continue across the country, with temporary gusty winds, lightning and scattered showers forecast for the eight divisions.
Some areas may also see moderate to heavy rainfall.
The met office also warned of possible rainfall on Saturday.
The forecast suggests that parts of Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions, along with isolated places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka and Sylhet divisions, may see light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty winds and lightning.
