In observance of the holy month of Ramadan, Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has allowed passengers to carry 250 milliliters of water for iftar purposes on the metro rail.
This information was provided in a notice signed by Mohammad Ahsan Ullah Sharifi, the public relations officer of MRT Line-6, on Thursday.
The notice says that passengers are permitted to carry and consume only a 250-milliliter water bottle inside the metro stations and trains. Passengers are advised to be cautious to prevent water from spilling.
Used water bottles must be disposed of in designated bins.
Additionally, the consumption of any other food items is strictly prohibited inside the platforms, concourses, and trains.
The metro rail's schedule will remain unchanged throughout the month of Ramadan. As per the regular timetable, the first metro train will depart from Uttara North Station at 7:10am, and the last train will leave at 9pm.
From Motijheel, the first train will depart at 7:30am, and the last train will leave at 9:40pm. This schedule will remain in effect until the day before Eid-ul-Fitr, according to DMTCL.
