Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain, adviser to the interim government, said that it is inappropriate for political parties to interfere in government work and lobby or exert pressure on appointments to various important government and constitutional positions.
At the same time, he commented that if any of the advisers engage in politics, they will leave the interim government.
Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain said this in a status posted on his verified Facebook account on Thursday evening.
This came after Adviser Nahid Islam gave a reaction towards an interview given by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir to BBC Bangla published on Wednesday.
Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain wrote in his status, "We are also against any kind of involvement with a political party from within the government. If any of the advisers engage in politics, they will leave the government. At the same time, it is inappropriate for political parties to interfere in the work of the government. It is inappropriate to lobby or exert pressure for appointments to various important government and constitutional positions.”
Before this status, Asif Mahmud also shared Nahid Islam's post. While sharing Nahid's status, Asif Mahmud wrote in the caption: “I cannot say much more from the government to protect professionalism. However, it is also inappropriate to keep the people in the dark.”
