Police arrested a youth in connection with an attack on Khan Talat Mahmud Rafi, central co-coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, and his associates in Raozan, Chittagong.
The arrest took place on Monday night, and Abdullah Al Hamim, 23, was sent to jail on Tuesday via court order.
The incident occurred during a discussion meeting held at the conference room of the Raozan Upazila Parishad on Monday afternoon, reports Prothom Alo.
According to eyewitnesses, a group of attackers, led by Abdullah Al Hamim, allegedly disrupted the meeting, targeting Rafi and his associates, including female activists.
Following the altercation, activists of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement detained Hamim and handed him over to the police.
Earlier in the morning, a representative of the movement, Muhammad Belal, filed a case with Raozan police station, naming 15-20 individuals as accused.

According to police, Hamim was affiliated with "Central Boys of Raozan," a group linked to Faraz Karim, son of Awami League MP Fazle Karim from Raozan.
Video footage of the incident circulated on social media around 10pm on Monday night, prompting the early morning case filing.
The case statement alleged that the attackers forcibly tried to enter the meeting and, upon being stopped, launched the assault, injuring Rafi, female activists, and others.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Raozan Police Station, AKM Shafiq-ul-Alam Chowdhury, told Prothom Alo on Tuesday afternoon that some Chhatra League activists attempted to infiltrate the meeting by posing as students.
"When denied entry, they resorted to violence. Five names were mentioned in the case, with 20 individuals accused in total. Abdullah Al Hamim was arrested and sent to jail via court order this afternoon," he said.
