The body of late AF Hassan Ariff, adviser to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism and the Ministry of Land, will be laid to rest at the Martyred Intellectuals Graveyard in Mirpur on Monday.
The burial will take place in the morning, confirmed Mahbubur Rahman Tuhin, senior information officer of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism.
Tuhin said that Ariff’s daughter is expected to return from Canada on Sunday, and the burial will take place following her return.
Hassan Ariff, 83, passed away on Friday after suddenly falling ill. He was rushed to Labaid Hospital in Dhaka, where doctors declared him dead.
The first funeral prayer for the late advisor was held after Isha prayers on Friday at the Baitul Aman Mosque on Dhanmondi Road No 7, attended by Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus.
A second funeral prayer was held at 11am on Saturday at the High Court premises, followed by a third one at the Secretariat.
Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus, along with all members of the Advisory Council and leaders of various political parties, expressed profound grief over the passing of AF Hassan Ariff.
