Petrobangla relocates exam centre following unrest at Mollah College

SMS notifications sent to affected candidates

Update : 26 Nov 2024, 04:12 PM

Petrobangla and its subsidiary companies have changed the exam centre for the written test of the assistant officer (administration) position, scheduled for Friday, from Dr Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College (DMRC) in Dhaka's Jatrabari.

The announcement was made via a notice on Petrobangla's website on Tuesday, citing unavoidable reasons.

Candidates initially assigned to DMRC will now take their exams at Eden Mohila College, Home Economics College, or Agrani School and College.

Due to the change, applicants must download new admit cards using their user ID and password from the designated website.

Teletalk Bangladesh has sent SMS notifications to affected candidates. For any issues with downloading the admit card, candidates can contact the helpline at 121 or email [email protected].

This decision follows violent incidents on Sunday, where DMRC students, joined by others, vandalized Dhaka National Medical College and Shahid Suhrawardy College in Old Dhaka over allegations of medical negligence leading to the death of a student, Abhijit Halder.

On Monday, students from Suhrawardy College and Kabi Nazrul Government College retaliated by attacking DMRC.

The clash escalated into a confrontation involving DMRC students, local residents, and students from other institutions.
