Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan, adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development, and Cooperatives, inaugurated the “Shaheed Farhan Faiyaaz Playground” for the physically challenged on the western side of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Saturday.
During the inauguration ceremony, the adviser paid tribute to the martyrs of the July uprising, saying: “The sacrifice and blood of those who were martyred can never be fully repaid. However, we are striving to honour their memory as much as possible.”
The “Shaheed Farhan Faiyaaz Playground” aims to provide inclusive facilities for physically challenged individuals, reflecting the government’s dedication to fostering accessibility and honouring the memory of the nation’s martyrs.
Plans for Upazila Stadiums
Asif also announced plans to construct stadiums in 220 upazilas across the country.
“We have decided that these 220 stadiums will be named after the martyrs of the respective upazilas,” he said, emphasizing the government’s commitment to preserving the legacy of the martyrs.
Inclusion in Textbooks
Highlighting efforts to educate future generations, he added: “The textbooks for 2025 will include accounts of the bravery and sacrifice of the martyrs of the July uprising. Our aim is to ensure that the heroism of the martyrs is remembered by the next generation.”
