Detectives of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police on Wednesday arrested Amir Hossain Amu, a member of the Awami League advisory council and former minister, in Dhanmondi, Dhaka.
Additional Police Commissioner (Detective Branch) Rezaul Karim Mallik confirmed the arrest.
The officer said there were multiple murder cases against Amu, adding that he would be presented in court with a request for remand after he was shown arrested in one of these cases.
