Derailment near Kamalapur station halts rail services for 8hrs, schedule disrupted

The Panchagarh Express train derailed near Kamalapur Railway Station in the capital, halting train operations for eight hours. 

After the recovery efforts, train services resumed on Friday morning, but railway authorities reported delays in departures. 

Passengers have faced difficulties due to the disrupted schedule.

According to officials, the Panchagarh Express derailed around 12:30am on Fridat, leading to the suspension of train services. 

Recovery operations were completed by 8am on Friday, and train services began again around 9:30am.

When asked about the situation, Mohiuddin Arif, the divisional railway manager (DRM) of Bangladesh Railway, said that the Panchagarh Express was the last train from Dhaka to Panchagarh. Train services have now returned to normal after clearing the derailed train's location.
