Rickshaw pullers have blocked a road in Gulshan-2 following an altercation between a rickshaw driver and a local resident.
The blockade is underway for more than an hour in Gulshan-2.
Around 100 rickshaw pullers came to the scene blocking the traffic in support of their fellow rickshaw pullers.
On a social media post, Traffic’s Gulshan Division stated: “As this is a key crossing, normal traffic movement is being disrupted on both sides of Gulshan 1 and 2.”
Abu Sayem Noyon, Assistant Commissioner of Gulshan Traffic Division told Dhaka Tribune: “Police from Gulshan Station are now working to resolve the issue. They are trying to convince the rickshaw pullers to remove the blockade.”
The Gulshan area is still witnessing heavy traffic caused by the blockade. The traffic is expected to resume at normal level soon.
