Three members of the same family, including a child, were injured in an explosion from a gas leakage at a house in the capital's Shukrabad Bazar area.
The incident took place around 4am on Saturday.
The injured have been identified as Mohammad Toton, 35, his wife Nipa Akhter, 30, and their son Bayazid, 3.
They were taken to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery. All of them are in critical condition.
Resident Physician of the burn institute Md Tariqul Islam said: "Three people of the same family, including a three-year-old child, were burnt and are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. We know that the fire was caused by gas leakage.”
He said Md Toton suffered 50% surface-level burns, Nipa 32% and Bayazid 45%.
