The traffic division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) filed 500 cases and imposed fine of Tk21.14 lakh after conducting drives against traffic rule violators on Wednesday.
Jahangir Kabir, assistant commissioner (media) of DMP, said the DMP also dumped 49 vehicles and 28 vehicles were put on the wrecker during the drives in different parts of the capital.
Of the fined money, traffic police realised Tk667,250 in cash.
The drive will continue to maintain discipline, he said.
