Dhaka experienced rainfall early on Wednesday, which offered relief from the heat experienced over the past few days.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department said intermittent rain might continue throughout the day.
Additionally, due to a low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal, seaports had been advised to hoist Local Cautionary Signal No 3, while river ports had been asked to display Cautionary Signal No 1 due to the possibility of rain accompanied by strong winds, the BMD added.
While the rain brought some relief by lowering the temperature, office-goers and students faced difficulties during their morning commute.
Many encountered problems such as a shortage of transport and increased rickshaw fares, while some got soaked while heading to work.
Meteorologist Hafizur Rahman said rainfall was likely on Thursday as well, after which temperatures might not rise significantly.
