A rickshaw puller was shot dead in the capital’s Mohammadpur area on Wednesday.
The deceased is Sonu, 30, son of Babul Hossain.
The incident took place when miscreants fired indiscriminately hitting a bullet at the victim at the Geneva Camp college gate at about 8am.
The victim’s relative Md Sakib rescued Sonu and took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) at about 9am where on-duty doctors declared him dead.
Md Faruk, in charge of DMCH police outpost, confirmed the information adding that the body has been kept in the hospital morgue for post-mortem examination.
