Hasnat Abdullah, a key coordinator of the Students Against Discrimination movement, has been injured during a clash between students and Ansar members near the Secretariat in the capital.
He was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital afterwards on Sunday, Inspector Bacchu Mia, in charge of the DMCH police outpost, confirmed.
The inspector said at least 40 people, including students, Ansar members, passersby and journalists, had been injured in the clash, all of whom were currently receiving treatment in the emergency department of the hospital.
