Popular actor and lyricist Marzuk Russell on Sunday visited the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police office in the capital to file a complaint regarding a Facebook page using his name.
He alleged that this page has been persistently promoting the quota reform movement and has also posted various criticisms against the government, receiving thousands of likes, comments, and shares.
Many people mistakenly believe that Marzuk Russell is behind these posts.
However, Marzuk Russell has clarified that the Facebook page does not belong to him. Someone is misusing his name and photo to post these controversial messages.
During a press briefing, the actor said: "My name and photo have been used to post provocative content for several days, which has no relation or connection to me. I am embarrassed by this.
“Most people are confused about the situation, except for those who truly know me, my writing, acting, and lifestyle in detail," he added.
