Update : 10 Mar 2024, 08:56 PM

Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury on Sunday suddenly visited a construction site after being informed that a house was being built on Titas Road in South Banasree, Dhaka, violating rules and regulations.

During his inspection, he found that the construction of the house continued without keeping any space on the roadside, leaving construction materials scattered and without covering the under-construction building for safety.

He then instructed Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Executive Magistrate Jahangir Alam to take action following relevant rules.

The DSCC magistrate fined the house owner Tk11.24 lakh for continuing house construction work violating rules and regulations.

Saber Hossain Chowdhury said legal measures will continue to be taken against those who violate the government's regulations or pollute the environment.

He urged everyone to follow the law to improve the environment.
