A motorcyclist was killed after a covered van hit his motorcycle near the Jatrabari police station around 11am on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Robiul Islam, 41, a resident of the Kajla area of the capital. He owned a printing business.
Jatrabari police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Iqbal Hossein said: “Rabiul Islam died on the spot after the speeding covered van hit his motorcycle on the Demra Road behind Jatrabari police station. After receiving the news, we recovered his body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue."
Shihabul Haque, nephew of the deceased, said they were informed by the police about the accident.
“We saw his dead body at the morgue of Dhaka Medical College,” he added.
