A fire that had broken out at Sayed Grand Center in Dhaka’s Uttara area was doused after nearly three and a half hours on Wednesday morning.
The fire first hit the sixth, seventh and eighth floors of the building around 1:18am and spread soon, Anwarul Islam, warehouse inspector of the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters (media cell), confirmed.
Twenty-four firefighting units rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze around 4:40am.
Two firefighters sustained minor injuries while dousing the flames.
The extent of the loss caused by the fire could not be known immediately.
