Leaders and activists of Savar upazila Awami League and its affiliated organizations brought out processions in Aminbazar on Saturday morning.
They went towards Gabtoli through the Dhaka-bound lane of Aminbazar on the Dhaka-Aricha highway around 10am.
On Friday, the ruling Awami League and its affiliates said they would be on alert in Dhaka.
Ariful Islam Sabbir/Dhaka TribuneIn view of the announcement that the leaders and workers will remain vigilant at the entrances of Dhaka, two processions headed by the Aminbazar union Awami League president and chairman of the same union parishad, Rakib Ahmed, and Savar upazila Awami League Organizing Secretary and Bhakurta Union Chairman Liakat Hossain went towards Gabtoli.

Rakib Ahmed said: "For the sake of peace, we are staying in Aminbazar with a procession from Salhepur. We will not allow the BNP to create anarchy.”
Meanwhile, police are on alert on the side of the road.
