Police have recovered the body of a man from a house in Dhaka's Motijheel area.
The deceased was identified as Nuruzzaman Mia, 42, son of Abdus Samad Mia from Pirgacha upazila in Rangpur. He worked as a courier service employee.
Motijheel police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Nazrul Islam Sikder confirmed the matter.
The police official said: "Nuruzzaman was rescued unconscious from the house after receiving a 999 call at around 1.30pm on Saturday. He was taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) at around 3.30pm where the doctor on duty declared him dead."
Machura Begum, the wife of the deceased, who is currently in the village, said: "I had a conversation with my husband on Friday morning. He mentioned feeling unwell during our conversation."
Initially, the cause of his death was suspected to be illness. However, the exact cause of death will be known after the post-mortem report is received. The body has been kept at the DMCH morgue.
