The flavours of Eid-ul-Azha continues as many Dhaka residents are slaughtering their sacrificial animals on the second day of Eid-ul-Azha.
Due to the rain and a butcher crisis on Eid Day, many people said they are offering animal sacrifices on Friday.
However, the number of animals sacrificed is low compared to Eid day.
A resident of Dhaka's Dhanmondi, Haji Abdur Rahim, said it was difficult to slaughter the cow on Thursday because of the rain. “Since animal sacrifice is allowed on the second day, I was patient. Alhamdulillah, today (Friday) the weather is good so far.”
Meanwhile, the two city corporations of Dhaka, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) said preparations have been made for the removal of the second day's sacrificial animal waste.
DSCC Public Relations Officer Abu Naser said: “We removed the first day's sacrificial animal waste by 1:30am on Friday."
He added DSCC expects to complete its work in lesser time on Friday.
DNCC Public Relations Officer Mokbul Hossain the second day's sacrificial animal waste is being removed by their cleaners immediately, but insecticides and bleaching powders will be given together later when all other works are done.
