A Dhaka court on Tuesday ordered a youth to be sent to jail in a case filed under the Digital Security Act for allegedly leaking SSC question papers and spreading rumours.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sultan Sohag Uddin ordered Himel Mustakim to be sent to jail after Sub-Inspector Asaduzzaman of the Criminal Investigation Department's Cyber Intelligence Center, the investigating officer of the case, produced him before the court with a plea to keep him in the jail for the sake of investigation.

Earlier on Monday, the Cyber Police Center arrested Himel Mustakim in a raid in Dhaka's Gulshan area.

The accused made a post in a Facebook group named SSC BATCH 2023 saying he had SSC exam question papers.

In the post, he mentioned that if anyone wanted to get “100% common questions of SSC 2023 Bangla first paper,” then they should contact him. The question would be provided between 4am-6am on the exam day.

Later, he added several SSC candidates to his Facebook page named Question All Board. Then he began taking Tk1,550 from each person to get added to a WhatsApp group where he would supply the questions.

Himel was identified and arrested after the whole matter came to the notice of CID's cyber monitoring team.
