A total of five Eid congregations (Jamaat) will be held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in the capital in phases on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the greatest religious festival of Muslims.
The first congregation will be held at 7am and the last congregation will be held at 10:45am.
If any imam is absent in the five Jamaats, Maulana Mohammad Abdullah will act as the alternative imam.
The national mosque's senior imam Hafez Mufti Maulana Md Mizanur Rahman will lead the first congregation at 7am while the second congregation will be held at 8am by Imam Hafez Maulana Mufti Muhibullah Baki.
Besides, , the third Eid congregation will be held at 9am led by Islamic Foundation's Mufassir Dr Md Abu Saleh Patwari while the fourth one will be held at 10am led by Imam Hafez Maulana Md Ehsanul Haque.
The fifth and last congregation will be held at 10:45am. Imam Hafez Maulana Mufti Muhiuddin Qasem of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque will lead this congregation.
The main congregation of Eid-ul-Fitr will be held at the National Eidgah on the High Court premises at 8am on the Eid day.
The decision was taken at a meeting headed by Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh at Buriganga Hall of Nagar Bhaban on Monday afternoon.
