Overcrowding of enthusiastic people has become a hurdle as teams of fire service are struggling to keep the crowd in check while trying to bring the massive fire in the capital's Bangabazar under control.

Since the fire broke out on Tuesday morning, a large crowd of thousands of people has formed on the roads adjoining the market.

The law enforcers are trying to control the situation by pushing the crowd of thousands of eager people in and around Bangabazar. They are trying their hardest but unable to remove them from the spot.

Requests are also being made using local mosque microphone, hand microphones to stay away from the road without creating obstacles.

Despite repeated requests, the crowd is still found busy recording the situation on their phone and witnessing rescue efforts.

A fire service worker said that due to the crowd, they are facing obstacles to control the fire. Members of the Law enforcement force are working hard to control the crowd.

The police are removing the crowd from the road, but they are again gathering in front of the spot, he added.

The fire that took place in Dhaka's Bangabazar market early on Tuesday, has not been brought under control even after five hours.

The fire is reportedly spreading to nearby buildings and markets due to a water shortage. At present 48 units of the Fire Service and Civil Defence are working to control the blaze.
