At least 12 people including five members of the Fire Service and Civil Defence, were injured while working to control the massive fire in Dhaka's Bangabazar market on Tuesday.
They are undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) and Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
Mahmud Hossain Opu/Dhaka TribuneThe five fire service members are Rabiul Islam Antor, 30, Atiqur Rahman Razon, 35, Didarul, 32, Babul Chakroborty, 58 and Mehedi Hasan, 28 while the rest injured people are Niloy, 35, Shahin, 40, Ripon, 40, Rubel, 32, Dulal Miah, 60, Md Sumon Miji, 48 and Md Sohel Miji.
Inspector Bacchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH police outpost confirmed the matter.
Among the injured Mehedi Hasan was taken to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, said the police official adding that he became sick from inhaling smoke.

The fire that took place in Dhaka's Bangabazar Market early on Tuesday, has been brought under control after over six hours of frantic efforts.
