Police said that a case of unnatural death was registered at DMP Gulshan police station over the death of at least two people in the fire incident at a building in the capital's Gulshan-2.
DMP Gulshan police station duty officer Sub Inspector (SI) Azizul Haque confirmed the matter to Bangla Tribune at 11:30pm on Monday.
SI Azizul Haque said that a person named Rakib Hasan, 32, has become the plaintiff in this case. However, the police officer said that he did not know whether the plaintiff in the case was a member of the deceased family or the owner of the house.
A multistorey building in Gulshan area of capital Dhaka caught fire on Sunday evening.
The fire broke out on the 7th floor of the 13-storied building.
