The 27th edition of the International Trade Fair is going to start from Sunday at sector 4 of Purbachal, Kanchan, Rupganj.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the fair by appearing at 10am in the morning.
For the second time, this trade fair has been organized at the Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center located in Rupganj Kanchan, Narayanganj district.
Preparations for the opening of the fair have already been completed.
The security system of RAB, police and law enforcement forces has been strengthened throughout the fair focusing on the arrival of PM Hasina.
In this regard, Narayanganj District Superintendent of Police Golam Mostafa Rasel said: “The prime minister's safety at the trade fair is ensured by the strictest security procedures. Basically, SSF coordination is how VVIP security plans often operate. We have been in touch with SSF, and together, we've set up the highest level of security.”
Meanwhile, according to trade fair organizers, the number of countries participating in the fair has increased this time.
Apart from Bangladesh, a total of 13 countries including India, Indonesia, and Singapore with 331 stalls are participating with their products this year. Last year, the number was 225.
The fair will have 13 categories of stalls including reserved, foreign, pavilion, general and premier stalls, food stalls, and restaurants. There will be a Bangabandhu Pavilion rich in the history of the Liberation War.
Two gates have been kept for the entry of visitors to the fair. Apart from this, a separate gate has been kept for the coming and going of VIPs. There will be mother and child center for first aid. Fountains, ATM booths, e-parks are kept for entertainment. A 220 CCTV camera has been installed. Besides, there will be adequate security system.
The entry fee for the fair is fixed at Tk40 per person for adults and Tk20 for children. The fair will start at 10am and will continue till 9pm every day. However, on weekdays the fair will continue till 10pm.
International Trade Fair of Export Development Bureau (EPB) Director Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury said: “Some 331 stalls have been arranged. CCTV cameras have been installed. Hope all work will be completed by Saturday.
A total of 35 BRTC bus will run from Purbachal until the Kuril Flyover.
For the benefit of passengers, 35 buses will begin running from the Kuril flyover to the trade fair from Sunday, according to BRTC General Manager (Accounts) Md Amjad Hossain. There will be more buses if there is demand from passengers. The fare is set at Tk35 per person.
It should be noted that the Dhaka International Trade Fair is being organized since 1995 as a joint initiative of the Ministry of Commerce and the Export Development Bureau.
