A light rain drenched Dhaka on Wednesday, offering the residents of the city some relief from the scorching heat.
At the same time, it also brought woes to street vendors and commuters.
Many were seen walking due to a shortage of vehicles during the rain.
The met office had recorded one millimetre of rainfall till noon, said Meteorologist Mohammad Abul Kalam Mallik.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate elsewhere over North Bay.
The met office predicted that light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes are likely to occur at many places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, and at a few places in Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions, with moderately heavy to heavy rainfall at places across the country.
