The Ministry of Labour and Employment will provide Tk2 lakh to each family of the people who died in the fire at the plastic factory at Kamalbagh in Old Dhaka's Chawkbazar area on Monday.
State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Monnujan Sufian made the announcement in a statement expressing profound shock and sorrow at the death of six workers of a restaurant named “Barisal Hotel”.
She also prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls and conveyed deep sympathy to the members of bereaved families.
It is suspected that the fire might have originated at the restaurant on the ground floor of a four-storey building and later it spread over the plastic factory.
