The highly anticipated world-class third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport will be partially inaugurated in the first week of October this year, an official has said.
The terminal will be partially opened in October, and is scheduled to be fully operational by next year, said Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Chairman Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Mafidur Rahman.
During a press briefing on Tuesday, the chairman of the aviation regulatory body stated that the construction progress of the third terminal is 77.5% completed.
The CAAB chairman further revealed that the government has already made the decision to commence partial operations in the first week of October, with an estimated 90% of the construction work set to be completed by that time.
