The suspended staff includes Dr Shahzadi, Assistant Director of Central Hospital Dr Afsana Binte Gaus confirmed this information to Dhaka Tribune.
The victim's family has raised an allegation that they carried out a C-section operation giving a false assurance, said Afsana Binte Gaus.
They assured the family that the Professor Dr Sangjukta Saha, who supervised Akhi, was present at the hospital even though she was not. Actually, the operation was carried out by the team working with Dr Saha.
“We have formed an investigation committee in this incident. All 11 doctors-nurses who were present in the operation theatre that day have been dismissed. The investigation started on Wednesday. When the hospital authorities will get the investigation report, it will be possible to know what happened that day,” said the assistant director of the hospital.
According to the hospital authority, Dr Sangjukta Saha left the hospital around 12:30am on Friday, long before the operation started. Her flight was scheduled at 1:30am.
The victim's husband Md Yakub Ali Sumon, complained: "How can they conduct an operation on my wife without my permission? I asked repeatedly whether there was Sangjukta Saha at the hospital. Without informing me of anything, they took my wife to the labour room. After some moments, a staff member came to me and asked to give Tk10,000 to admit my wife. Then, they informed me of nothing. At around 3am, they said to me that my son was born but his physical condition was not so good. He was kept at the ICU of the hospital. When I went to my wife, I observed that the condition of my wife was also not good. Her hands and feet were cold. Later I called the police. With the help of the administration, I quickly took him to LabAid.”
His family members also claimed that Akhi was under supervision of Sangjukta Saha for the last three months for normal delivery.
Meanwhile, a Facebook status given by Ankhi's friend Umm Maya Brishti went viral on social media.
A storm of criticism has generated on Facebook against the treatment system of Central Hospital doctors and Prof Sangjukta Saha.
According to family sources, Akhi's condition is very critical for excessive bleeding.
