The three uniformed military services of the country – army, navy and air force – and the Rapid Action Battalion were helping the fire service put out a fire at New Supermarket in Dhaka on Saturday morning.
The air force's helicopter was also ready to join the rescue efforts, the Inter Services Public Relations Directorate said in a press release.

Palashi fire station was informed about the fire at New Supermarket, a market between the popular New Market and Dhaka College, at 5:40am.
Twenty-eight firefighting units were making frantic efforts to bring the fire under control at the time of writing.
Shop owners rushed to the market after hearing the news of the fire, trying to salvage as many goods as they could.
Many of them burst into tears upon seeing their shops go up in flames.
