In Pictures: Left alliance hartal ends with clash

The Baam Ganotantrik Morcha or Left Democratic Alliance hartal ended with a clash between the police and supporters of the strike on Monday. Hartal supporters blocked the Paltan intersection when police, in a bid to disperse the crowd, hurled water cannons and teargas at them prompting the activists to retaliate with brickbats. The hartal was called in protest of the rise in daily necessities.
