Police have found the body of a woman with her children tied up beside it at their home in the capital’s Sabujbagh area.
A call to 999 on Saturday evening led to the recovery of 28-year-old Mukta’s body, police said.
“There are wounds on her body, and we suspect she was murdered,” said Inspector Ajgar Ali of Sabujbagh police station.
The perpetrators fled the area after committing the murder and tying up her four-year-old daughter and one-year-old son with tape, he suggested.
The deceased woman’s husband, Mainul Islam, works at a hospital in Faridpur and police have contacted him about the matter, the police officer said, adding that further details will be divulged after an investigation.
