A fire broke out in a high-rise building in the capital's Bangla Motor area on Thursday.
Fire Service official Rozina Akter said the blaze erupted on the 10th floor of the 11-storey Rahat Tower, which houses an office of Jamuna Television, around 11am.

Nine firefighting units rushed to the spot to douse the blaze, she said. They managed to bring the blaze under control by 12:30pm, according to media reports.
"A probe has been ordered to ascertain the exact cause of the fire," Akter told UNB.

The fire could not spread throughout the building due to the promptness of the Fire Service, Jamuna Television Special Correspondent Shushanto Sinha told Dhaka Tribune.
The fire destroyed at least nine cameras and 12 computers, he added.
