Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) removed over 32,251 tons of sacrificial animal wastages from the city since the first day of the Eid-ul-Azha on July 21.
The two city corporations engaged 21,500 employees for removing the solid wastages during the Eid, officials said.
In the DNCC, around 11,508 employees were engaged in the special cleaning drive at 54 wards, while about 10,000 employees in the DSCC areas.

Under the program, as much as 15,733 tons of wastages were removed from the DNCC areas and over 16,518 tons from the areas under the DSCC.
On Wednesday, DSCC Public Relations Officer Md Abu Naser said that they had removed 100% wastes from eight wards, 95% from 16 wards, and 90% wastes from nine wards from 2pm to 9pm.
On the other hand, the DNCC officials said that they had completed the garbage removal task by Thursday afternoon.
