Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has detained five members of two separate teen gangs for their involvement in crimes in Dhaka.
Three members of a gang named “Opur Dol” were held from Mirpur’s 60 Feet Road area on Thursday.
The detainees are Md Atikur Rahman, 25, Md Nasir Ahmed alias Opu, 23, and Md Hridoy, 21.
The elite force members seized a Chinese axe, a knife, a machete, 50 pieces of yaba tablets, and Tk510 from their possessions.
On Friday, RAB-4 Commander Additional Deputy Inspector General Mozammel Haque said: “The detainees were involved in various criminal activities including drug business, extortion, mugging, and sexual harassment.”

They used to create chaos in the area by mugging new people using sharp weapons.
Meanwhile, two members of teen gang “Five Star”, also known as “Vulgar Squad”, were held from Bangshal’s Hazi Osman Gani Road area on Friday afternoon.
The detainees are Md Milon alias Potla Milon, 17, and Md Abu Tawheed Safir, 17.
Members of RAB also seized two knives and a mobile phone from their possession.
RAB-10 Assistant Director Shoyeb said the detainees used to rob people by threatening them with sharp weapons.
He also said Milon had a murder case against him filed with Chakbazar police station.
