18-year-old stabbed to death by teen gang in Dhaka

The man had a dispute the members of the teen gang a few days ago

A 18-year-old has been stabbed to death by members of a teen gang in Dhaka’s Shanir Akhra area.

The incident happened near RS Shopping Complex in Shanir Akhra around 10pm on Thursday, confirmed Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police outpost.

The deceased is identified as Arafat Yeasin from Noakhali’s Begumganj upazila. He worked in a clothing shop and currently lived with his family in a rented house in Dhaka’s Kadamtoli Paterbag area.

Yeasin’s elder brother Sattar said few days ago, Yeasin had a dispute with the members of a teen gang.  He thinks that following the dispute 15-20 members of the gang stabbed Yeasin on his way back home from work on Thursday.

Severely injured Yeasin was rushed to DMCH and later transferred to National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases. As his condition deteriorated there, he was again taken back to DMCH where on-duty declared him around 5:45am on Friday, said Inspector Bachchu Mia.

The body has been kept in the hospital’s morgue for autopsy.
