The Bangladesh Competition Commission on Wednesday warned Viqarunnisa Noon School and College (VNSC) against creating a monopoly in collusion with an organization that supplies uniforms to all students, without any competition.
The commission, in an order issued on Wednesday, said the school authorities had given the contract for the supply of uniforms to all students of the institution to Messrs Chowdhury Enterprise, in violation of the Competition Act, 2012.
The regulatory body also fined the uniform supplier organization Tk79,897 and asked it to settle up by March 31, according to GM Saleh Uddin, a member of the commission.
Meanwhile, VNSC was asked to select at least three tailors for each of its campuses for making uniforms for its students.
