Bangladesh Competition Commission has formed a three-member enquiry committee to check unlawful activities in the market.
The committee has been formed to conduct operations in line with the Competition Act, 2012 regarding anti-competitive activities and artificial crisis of edible oil in the market, said a statement on Thursday.

It said that the Commission had taken into cognizance the price hike of edible oil and the recent unrest in the market.
Besides, all citizens have been urged to mail to the secretary of the Bangladesh Competition Commission ([email protected]) if there is any anti-competitive activity seen in the market.

The identity of the information giver would be kept secret, the statement said.
The National Directorate of Consumer Rights Protection (NDCRP) has also been working to check hoarding of soybean oil and price hike in the market.
