Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh on Monday put emphasis on working together for the overall development of the capital.
Earlier in the day, the mayor held a meeting with DSCC ward councillors on the Detailed Area Plan (DAP) provided by Rajuk.
Rajuk will formulate plans such as the DAP and the city corporation will play a supportive role to ensure their proper implementation, Taposh said.
“These two institutions are complimentary to each other. We must have coordination to be complete,” he said. “We will be able to fulfil the people’s expectations if we can coordinate better and in a proper way.”
Rajuk Chairman Md Sayeed Noor Alam said it is not possible to make anything sustainable without the involvement of the people.
“After this meeting, we understood that many things have already been done without the people’s involvement. That is why it was not possible to make them sustainable,” he added.
