Taposh: Roads are damaged due to improper drainage

The DSCC mayor says authorities concerned will be informed to address the matter

Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh has said roads in the capital city are being damaged due to improper drainage management.

“A few days ago, there were reports in media that water was coming down from a flyover into Dhalpur area which had caused waterlogging in the area, resulting several accidents,” he told reporters after inspecting different roads in the city from the morning till afternoon on Wednesday.

If drainage system was managed properly, the waterlogging would not have created in the aforesaid area, he said.

The DSCC mayor said authorities concerned would be informed to address the matter, said a press release.

“We will give a notice to the flyover authorities and send a letter to the bridge department so that the proper management of the water coming down from the flyover will be ensured soon,” he said.

DSCC CEO ABM Amin Ullah Nuri, Secretary Akramuzzaman and other senior officials accompanied the mayor during the visit.
