Telehealth service at Mugda General Hospital from Thursday

The service will be available round the clock over telephone, Viber, WhatsApp, imo and skype

Mugda General Hospital in Dhaka has decided to provide treatment for people staying at home from Thursday.

The move comes in light of the government’s instructions to people to stay at home and banning public transport due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The hospital will be providing telehealth services through catering to its patients 24x7, in order to ensure social distancing, says a press release.

Four physicians in three shifts will be available round the clock over telephone, Viber, WhatsApp, imo and skype to provide health tips and address physical complications.

Patients suffering from symptoms of the deadly virus will be given priority, the press release adds.

Treatment will also be provided for those having gynae, surgery, cardiology, paediatrics, ENT, eye and orthopaedics complexities.  

In the first shift, from 8am to 2pm, two doctors will be available for the services, while the next shift till 9pm will have a doctor.

The last shift that ends at 8am will also have a doctor.

Residents of Dhaka-9 constituency are requested to text at +088 01844-665585 mentioning name, address and NID number, if needed, to avail the telehealth service.
